How does time work on this world?
The calendar
A calendar is most commonly denoted as ´Day - Season - Year - Cycle of Year´
1: 1-29
2: 1-29
3: 1-5
4: 1-30
5: 1-29
6: 1-5
On Velurebi the calender only denotes the day and season and the official New Zarus calendar considers each cycle a full year.
Years are usually counted in triple passes, a year is when the planet itself circles around the sun three times. (381 days)
This is because climates follow a three year cycle, where year three has the harshest scorch and snap.
The sun of this world has a three year cycle in which it grows and shrinks. It will grow considerably in size but not change its attraction, it does get hotter however. At its highest, a summer has a painful scorch.
At the end of the three cycle period, it will shrink back to its smallest size in a matter of around 45 days which coincides with a painful snap.
Time and calendar data
Orbital period
127.076 173 446 days.
In ancient times every 13th cycle would include an extra day, now in Itia every new years day the orbit is slowed down temporarily to achieve a perfect 127 days.
Seasons
Spring(1-29), Summer(30-58), Scorch(59-63) Fall(64-93), Winter(94-122), Snap(123-127)
Scorch and Snap are specially brutal, more so on a third cycle.
